General
Counsel
Division
Summary |
The General
Counsel Division of the firm oversees legal aspects of financial services
and products provided by the business (including PCP, alternative investments,
funds, FX, trust funds, etc.) as well as employment and litigation matters.
The group is organized functionally by product line and regionally. |
| Responsibilities |
Review and advise on a broad
range of complex legal matters as related to a diverse range of investment
products globally especially alternative investments.
Research, draft/develop and
present transactional documentation, proposals to changes to rules, policies
or procedures for conformity with the law
Study statutes, decisions and
ordinances. Interpret laws, rulings and regulations.
Write, edit and finalize reports,
opinions, correspondence, articles and other documents.
Work effectively with the members
of sales and product teams as well as risk and compliance functions to
minimize risk and provide on-going legal support. To liase with appropriate
specialists within the Company to coordinate legal advise and proposals.
To maintain training and skills
development in order to continuously achieve performance objectives.
Incumbents must become very knowledgeable about the overall operation of
the global institution and its products. Candidate should stay current
with events in the financial and legal field.

Experience
Required |

5-6 years post law-school experience
in a major law firm
-
Proven knowledge of investment
products (such as hedge funds, alternative investments, private investments
offerings, etc.)

Must be able to handle and prioritize
requests from several client groups; excellent organizational, outstanding
analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, negotiation skills are required.

The candidate must demonstrate
an ability to work effectively, meet demanding deadlines and balance multiple
tasks in a fast-paced environment. Superior professional ethical
standards.

Knowledgeable and creative about
solutions
-
Ability to work and converse
in Spanish would be considered a plus
